Having recently learnt to spin and having fallen in love with this heritage craft, we're delighted to now be offering this learn to spin course!

This six-session/six-week course will be held in our Studio at Unit 12, The Buttermarket in Enniskillen where you’ll begin by learning about the elements of a spinning wheel and fleece selection, before moving on to plying yarn, which helps get a feel for the wheel and the principles of tension. You’ll also be shown how to card wool and you’ll then have the opportunity to make your own rolags and batts using a blending board and drum carder which you’ll then go on to spin into yarn.

The price includes all materials and tea, coffee and biscuits. Don’t worry if you haven't got a spinning wheel as we have wheels available for hire for the duration of the course. Please be sure to select this option at checkout.

The workshop will run from 2pm to 4pm on the following Saturdays :

  • 6th April
  • 13th April
  • 20th April
  • 4th May
  • 11th May
  • 18th May

and will held in Unit 12 at The Buttermarket, Enniskillen. You must be able to attend all six sessions and 100% deposit is required at time of booking. Please provide your contact details when booking in case we need to contact you about the workshop.

A minimum of two students will be required for this workshop to run, and limited to a maximum of three.

Enniskillen’s Buttermarket is fully accessible and there’s a cafe and public toilets within the courtyard. There’s also lots of pay and display parking available in Down/Market street and surrounding areas.
