We're absolutely thrilled to be offering this Dorset Button workshop by Debbie McCann of Wee Yarn Designs!

The workshop will be held in our Studio at Unit 12, The Buttermarket in Enniskillen on Saturday 1st July from 2pm-5pm and costs £40 per person.

The history of the Dorset Button

Dorset button making began in the 1600s, in Shaftsbury, Dorset. This traditional craft was passed through generations of families until machines were able to reproduce the work done by hand in the 1800s. Today Dorset Button making is considered a heritage craft.

What to expect at a Dorset Button Workshop

At a Wee Yarn Designs workshop, participants are given a short introduction to the history of the craft. Debbie will demonstrate how to make a simple crosswheel Dorset button and then guide the participants in the creation of their own set of buttons, piece of jewellery or work of art.

100% deposit is required at time of booking. Please provide your contact details when booking in case we need to contact you!

Workshop is limited to a maximum of six.

Enniskillen’s Buttermarket is fully accessible and there’s a cafe and public toilets within the courtyard. There’s also lots of pay and display parking available in Down/Market street and surrounding areas.

Skill level: No specific skills are required for this workshop.

Tutor: Debbie McCann, Wee Yarn Designs
