Have you ever wanted to try your hand at making yarn? Well now’s your chance with our popular drop spindle workshop!
During this workshop you'll be introduced to spinning yarn on a drop spindle, an ancient form of spinning.
We'll supply you with a spindle and box of prepared wool (for you to keep) and you'll learn how to attach the fibre, spin it, ply it and finish your yarn.
This simple but mighty tool is often overlooked but is an incredible piece of equipment and a skill for life.
Each session is limited to 4 participants and all materials along with tea, coffee and refreshments will be provided. It will take place at the Buttermarket on Saturday 30th May, between 2pm-5pm.
Your tutor for the workshop will be Bek Sweeney. Having spun wool for over 25 years, Bek has a passion for the beauty and simplicity of this craft. Hand spun yarn offers a texture and character that can't be replicated by machine and is a dream to work with. Bek encourage’s everyone to try it for themselves and find that joy!
WORKSHOP CANCELLATION POLICY
We understand that plans can change, and we aim to be fair to both our customers and our tutors. Please read the following carefully before booking.
Customer Cancellations
- If you cancel 7 days or more before the workshop, you will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to another workshop date.
- If you cancel within 3-6 days of the workshop, you will receive a 50% refund or a full transfer to another date.
- If you cancel within 48 hours of the workshop, unfortunately no refund can be given. You may, however, transfer your place to someone else with prior notice.
Non-Attendance
If you do not attend and have not notified us in advance at outlined above, no refund or transfer will be available.
Transfers
You may transfer your booking to another person or another workshop date with at least 48 hours' notice, subject to availability.
Cancellations by Us
If we need to cancel a workshop due to tutor illness, low numbers, or unforeseen circumstances, you will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer to a future date.
Materials and Preparation
Many of our workshops involve advance preparation and materials being purchased specifically for you. This is why late cancellations cannot be refunded.
